Emily’s World
Because we all live so close to some Bald Eagles I thought it would be cool to tell you a bit about them. First they are not really bald, the word is actually bauld which used to mean whiteand Bald Eagles do have white heads. The young eagles though are all brown and they won't get their white heads until they are 5 years old. They have great eyesight which comes in handy when they are flying around looking for food. Speaking of flying, did you know a Bald Eagle can fly up to 50km an hour. And they have been known to fly 300km in one day. Bald Eagles usually have about 1 to 3 babies each year and they live in their nest which is called a eyrie. You can find lots of things about Bald Eagles including this website in Squamish where the Bald Eagles come to rest for the winter months. In fact they have their own festival called the Brackendale Eagle Festival every January. Check out this website for more information www.squamishchamber.bc.ca

 Eagle

American Lobster which is found in Eastern Canada. He is a distant cousin of Leroy and can be a little mean. You have to watch out for those claws!!

Hi! I am a cousin of Leroy Hi! I am a Orca

Hi everyone and welcome to the Docks. I was playing on the computer at Daryl’s store when I saw Waylon Whale out in the bay. He’s an Orca just like the whale on the Vancouver Canucks shirt. There are 500 whales left in the wild most of them live in the Pacific Ocean. There are many whale watching tours around the world so if you get a chance go say HI.
